The Dudes.

1. Adam Lambert

icis.com

The biggest risk I’ve ever taken is going on American Idol and trying to be myself,” says the 27-year-old reality show star. “I wasn’t going to try too hard to conform, and I knew that it could possibly not work out.” I totally dig his attitude and voice, never mind that he kisses guys and is into those wild and controversial costume parties.

2. Chace Crawford

hollywire.com

The Gossip Girl star tops PEOPLE’s 10th annual list. Note to anyone interested in the 23-year-old actor, who will next star in the remake of Footloose: learn to be low-maintenance. Says Crawford of his perfect date: “All you need is a pool table, beer, an electric jukebox and good conversation. The day a girl beats me in a game of Beirut [a kind of beer pong] is a good sign!”

I’ve always loved and admired Chace, so this is not a surprise at all. Clean cut, great eyes/teeth and perfect smile.

3. Robert Pattinson

poponthepop.com

“It’s a really emotional experience when people are screaming at you all the time,” the Twilight star, 23, told EW.com about the fan frenzy that follows him. “When I was in Italy, all these people started screaming in this bookshop. Your immediate reaction is you feel like you’re going to start crying. It’s so not how I thought I would react. When people are pressing loads and loads of energy, you can kind of feel it. It’s overwhelming.”

I just think he looks really good all “glittering” in Twilight, but of course, the cool, laid-back and charismatic demeanor he exudes is a definite bonus.

4. Taylor Lautner

teengoss.files.wordpress.com

He’s only 17 but shows that he’s really a pretty mature teenager who knows how to handle stress and challenges, just as how he managed to portray a convincing werewolf and Bella’s potential love interest as Jacob Black. I like how sincere and genuine he seems to be. It’s too bad he and Swift are no longer an item.

5. Barack Obama

weblogs.cltv.com

The United States President is HOT – many people think so. The reasons are very simple: The Harvard Law graduate is refined, sophisticated, intelligent and poised, not to mention being extremely charismatic, influential and has a will to effect change. So far he’s doing pretty well. He has my respects!

The Babes.

1. Michelle Obama

people.com

Never before has a First Lady’s figure been such a hot topic! Obama’s penchant for sleeveless dresses showed off her toned triceps – hard-earned arms, since she begins working out at 4:30 a.m. “I enjoy arm exercises because you can see what it’s hitting,” she told Prevention. She’s not in the list because her husband is, but like him, she’s attracting all the right kinds of attention. Cheers to the First Lady.

2. Madonna

people.com

In her 50s and the pop icon continues to get people talking – and the most recent subject are her bulging biceps, which show the results of her regular Ashtanga yoga exercises. And her songs and dance moves are almost always hot, aren’t they?

3. Kim Kardashian

skirt.com

Famous for being famous, Kim is hot stuff and she knows it, her pictures often splashed across glamour and fashion magazines and trend spotted for wearing the latest HOT NOW stuff. She may seem too “sexy” for some women, not to mention the sex tape scandal, but her figure is undeniably hot. Interested to purchase her workout video, anyone?

4. Taylor Swift

people.com

She is country music’s reigning princess, and she is always dressed appropriately in shimmering frocks. “Anything that glitters hypnotizes me,” says Swift of her red carpet picks by Collette Dinnigan and KaufmanFranco. Indeed, she hypnotizes me too. I love her dresses and she is always dressed prettily and daintily, with just the right dose of “chic”.

5. Megan Fox

eletrostars.blogtvespana.es

How can she be out? I’m smitten by her looks, but this female is eccentric to me too. She claimed to have cut herself, said she has a “supernatural power over men”, and spouts plenty of quotable quotes the media loves to publish. Just what’s so HOT about Fox? I’m not absolutely certain myself, but the alluring beauty has her “physical prowess” to thank for her fame, and for getting away with things.

I’m recently hooked up on this newly launched game and if you’re a fashionista who loves designing and time management games, you’ll be totally addicted to this too!!!

gamezebo.com

Be prepared for different themes like Kimono Krazy, Amsterdam Chic, Tokyo Street etc…I’ve played for hours and the game has only started – meaning that there’s many many levels to play with and it totally unleashes your creativity and potential for designing! You are also judged on your taste in design and fashion, as the models you dressed will be sent to the runway within a stipulated time and points will be awarded according to different criteria. FUN!!!

This innovative game gives me inspiration to design clothes and shoes, which is what I’m beginning to work on now. So, further incentive to indulge in the “virtual world” of being a top-class fashion designer!

D&G

As promised, here’s my edition of what has taken the world by storm in Fashion and Beauty this year. Bringing you the best of 2009 –

credits to msn singapore

Best Dressed Celebrities: Rihanna & Sienna Miller

irminak.pinger.pl

Rihanna pushes the best of today’s trends. Going all the way with arched shoulders, engineered dresses, full-body bandage suit and more, RiRi’s love for the edgy look gets our utmost respect. Also in this category are Sienna Miller, one of English’s best export, and best remembered for her 24/7 trendy styles and never-go-wrong ensembles that characterize her fashion sense.

Best Fashion Collaboration: Christopher Kane for Topshop & Jimmy Choo for H&M

club.femm.ca

I love 2009 for these fash-collabos! From the runway and to store racks, such collaborations allow commonfolk like us to own these designer products at an affordable price. Although deemed as OTT to most of the general public, many are digging this iconic alligator top which sprung forth from his original animal print t-shirt collections. Also, In my previous post I’ve shown you how awesome the designs were for Jimmy Choo’s (H&M). I’m delighted to once again present to you these beauties.

guestofaguest.com

Best New Fashion Icon: Michelle Obama & Lady Gaga

gyma.files.wordpress.com/

stylebakery.com

Remember how the First Lady‘s pictures were splashed all over fashion magazines for her designer outfits that were simple yet oh-s0-elegant? She was notably remembered for her Jason Wu cream gown. The days of boring politicians (on and off stage) are long gone. Lady Gaga‘s outrageous outfits and “crazy” MTVs are particularly jawdropping, too. We can all see why and how, I’m sure.

Best Fashion Trend: Sequins and Strong/Structured Shoulders

fashionhype.co.uk

whowhatwear.com

We love sparkles so much, we’re willing to be a Twilight vampire anytime! Our new year’s resolution? To liberate sequins so we can wear it all year round without looking like a desperate, delusional disco freak. From sequin jackets to body-con dresses, this is one trend that will definitely keep you in the views of photographers around. Sculptured shoulders are so hot this year, especially in FW09, every sort of style tried to incorporate it. It’s so cool isn’t it? However, I totally do not buy overly huge shoulders…I mean, who wants to look like some Dutch maid?!

Best Beauty Trend: Bandage Shoes and Puple/Gold Eyeshadow

forsapink-mix.blogspot.com

2.bp.blogspot.com

Strong and strappy sends all the right messages for spring and goes so well with almost everything. Another fashion trend that is the sibling of bandage shoes are of course the bodycon dresses. And they sometimes totally go together. As for purple and gold eyeshadow, they’re so versatile and sexy that putting them together will just make you look Boomz! Ok Ok I shall stop using Ristionary.

Best Beauty Product: Estee Lauder’s/Lancome’s Vibrating Mascara and Toni & Guy’s Refreshing Dry Shampoo

Estee Lauder

Lancome

Toni and Guy

In July, Estée Lauder launched TurboLash All Effects Motion Mascara exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue. The vibration of this battery-operated brush promises to separate lashes to avoid clumping. And from what I’ve heard, it REALLY WORKS and lots of women around the world have been amazed at this wonderful tool.

Lancôme’s version, Ôscillation, was out in Fall. The brush vibrates 7,000 times per minute, claiming to provide 360-degree coverage around each lash. It was created by Jean-Louis Guéret, who has developed almost 400 (!) mascaras in his lifetime. As expected,  Ôscillation gives Estee Lauder a run for its money!

Toni and Guy‘s Refreshing Dry Shampoo are for lazy people who do not or cannot wash their hair in the shower – yet it takes the oilyness and the shinyness away from your hair and leaves it with a nice smell and a nice easy to style look! How good is that!

Best Hair Style: The Pixie Crop and Flowy Long Hair

fashionising.com

fashionising.com

Victoria Beckham wore it, so did Katie Holmes, Natalie Portman and Agyness Deyn. It just speaks for itself – trendy, chic and style-setting. Short and cropped’s the way to go!

I personally love loooong hair because you can tie it, style it, dye it, keep it in any way you want – straight or permed. Most importantly, long hair goes well with any kind of trends and styles because it’s so versatile! Sexy’s the word.

Best Designer Label for Handbags: Louis Vuitton and Chanel

myddnetwork.com

thatsafabuloushandbag.com

thatsafabuloushandbag.com

LV used a lot of decorations to complement its handbags. For example: this handbag with bronze tones, big tassels and beads. Very popular on the runaway and a big hit in spring/summer 2009.

Chanel‘s handbags for Fall 2009 are so gorgeous that celebrities can’t stop being photographed carrying them! Oh how I wish I could own one of them too…

Best Statement Jewellery: Chandelier Earrings and Statement Necklaces

runwaydaily.com

anewmode.com

Chandelier earrings can brighten up and glamorize almost any kind of outfit or occasions – day or night. And as you know, when it comes to bling, the bigger and bolder the better!

Statement necklaces are known to be worthy investments any girl (or guy) should indulge in. Just look at how amazing and stylish you’d look with a beautiful statement neck-piece. So what are you waiting for? Choose something you really like, and colours that reflects well on your complexion, not wear it for the sake of knowing it’s HOT now. Good luck!

And the Finale…

Best Label: Balmain

credits to Fab Sugar Australia

media.onsugar.com

Yes I totally agree with the 2009 Sugar Award! It is definitely the most influential label this year! Balmain dominated the catwalks, red carpets, designer stores and inspired every chain store imaginable with their clever take on 80’s dressing mixed with a French rock slant. Designer Christopher Decarnin took the once-elegant eveningwear label (founded by Pierre Balmain in 1945) and resurrected it with thigh-high, tough-chic, sequin-filled, rock-star glory. A favourite amongst stars including Sienna Miller, who wore a glittery Spring 2010 number to her broadway debut this October; Beyonce, who’s been seen in multiple Balmain items including a multi-coloured mini dress for the BET Awards; Blake Lively, in a full sleeved Paillette mini dress for a post Emmys soiree; Kylie Minogue, who changed into multiple Balmain looks for her Brit Awards co-hosting duties; and most recently, model Daria Werbowy in the same frock as Sienna.

And the good news is that the Balmain hysteria is only set to continue, with Decarnin’s Spring 2010 collection offering liquid gold dresses and distressed military detailing on everything from skinny pants to jackets!

I’ve always raved about fantastic blockbusters and look forward to movie dates with friends! 2009 is drawing to a close and from what I remember it’s an incredible year for flicks – almost making people forget about the financial crisis and all the other problems happening right now. Just for recollection’s sake, here’s top 10 in 2009 according to Melissa Jane!

1. Avatar (December)

blogs.telegraph.co.uk/

I’m sure few will dispute this!

2. G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra (August)

hotcelebs.today.com

Love this movie because I was so impressed by the “technology” employed. Got me hooked! Sure it helps that Sienna Miller’s one of the leads!

3. Sherlock Holmes (November)

cdn.buzznet.com

I watched this just a few days ago and was awed by our beloved Sherlock’s wit and intelligence. Great attempt, Guy Ritchie!

4. Bride Wars (January)

rawreport17.files.wordpress.com

Who says chick flicks are only meant for the girls? Last I heard, boys love them too! Double yes to Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson!

5. 2012 (July)

northshoremovies.files.wordpress.com

One word: Epic! The visual effects alone grants it a standing ovation!

6. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (January)

ninieahmad.files.wordpress.com

It’s a beautiful, artistic film I would never forget. Brad Pitt’s performance was phenomenal!

7. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (June)

orthocomics.com

Who can forget Megan Fox and the film that made her famous? I love machines, anyway.

8. Angels & Demons (May)

entertainmentwallpaper.com

Another of Dan Brown’s masterpiece, Angels and Demons stunned me beyond words and I remembered being thoroughly bewitched every minute as the mystery slowly unfolded.

9. Twilight: New Moon (November)

I’m not crazy about it because of Robert Pattinson. The truth is that I have a thing for vampires and I’m captivated by Kristen Stewart.

10. Star Trek

movie-theatres.info

The last award has to go to another sci-fi film and not disappointments like Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Satisfied with the results?

If not…

2010 is going to be another amazing period when countless wonderful productions are already in the making – I’ve seen the trailers, read the reviews and heard the screams of anticipation already. Are you ready to embrace more adrenaline at the movies? Let’s get started!

When a voodoo practitioner becomes hell-bent on raising an army of the undead, Jonah (Josh Brolin) and his pretty partner-in-crime Leila (Megan Fox) must do everything in their power to stop the evil practitioner from turning the Wild West into a zombie wasteland. I like.

Here’s wishing everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS this year and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Christmas Shopping!!!

Posted: December 24, 2009 in Uncategorized

The best part of Christmas is of course Shopping!!! I realized that to some of my friends I have a reputation for being a Shopping Queen! Well, I don’t mind that title at all because I truly love shopping! Walking through malls and looking at displays, (new products) and mannequins give me lots of ideas and room for my imagination to flourish! So cheers to that! :)

Before I let the pictures do that talking again, I chanced upon this website that’s pretty cool – great for students who love discounts as they shop!

Yep! And we’re loving Muji’s chips with the so many different dip sauces! Yums! Loves Muji snacks!

Ichiban Boshi had a long queue so we had a cheap but great meal at the food court! I never have enough of sushi!

Then we watched Avatar at Great World City! Fantastic movie and I love it to bits!

James Cameron took 10 years to make this film on a S$500 million budget and I think his efforts have paid off judging from the box office ratings! Well, I’m a tech-lover and a sci-fi film fan at heart! The next movie I’m totally anticipating is The Fourth Kind starring Milla Jovovich from my favourite Resident Evil series! Bravo to heroines!

Gift Exchange – Blazer from New Look and Vest from Uniqlo!

With Pei Wen :)

Next post: Top 10 movies you’ll be anticipating next year!

I have the weirdest dream these days – dreams that I don’t even want to remember so I shan’t do a recollection here. But back from Jakarta there is so much to do and so many people to meet! But I’m lovin’ every minute of it. The only bad part is, my moolahs can’t last that long. Awww. My shout-out:

I’M BROKE! :(

Abigail’s 21st!

The theme was “Childhood” and the decorations and some of the outfits were really cute! Bibs, toys, playthings, pacifiers, you name it! The food was really good and most of all Erica and I love the parrots (owned by Abi’s brother Amos and his friend!)

Pooh & Friends! And look at that "scandalous photo" in the middle!!! Heehee!

Abi was made to do a “nobody” dance and it was hilarious! Then we played games (quiz + wacking the bear) and I must say the host is pretty good at engaging people to be interested and to participate :) woohoo!

Cake cutting and photo-whoring session before Erica and I had to leave because she was meeting her boyfriend and the journey home for me was really looong from CCK! And the most “awesome” thing that happened was that I went to the MRT toilet before boarding the train but I left my ez-link card there and I spent a good half an hour or so searching the area.  My mood was really foul by then! What’s more I had just topped $10 that evening! When I reached Toa Payoh I had the idea to report to the control station and lucky me – by 11plus that night I received a call saying they have found my card! Thanks to the person who found it and returned it! If not I have to pay $28 for admin fee, replacement card fee and another $10 top-up! God bless you, honest person! :)

***

Happy Meet-up with Steph, Hendri and Eric!

Hendri’s like my new found half-brother. Well, he’s my brother’s age anyway, and we had met at AYLE 2009 and totally hit off, and now, we’re “potential” business partners and of course, great friends and confidants! :)

I had a craving for sushi so we had a casual meal at Itacho Sushi while reminiscing about AYLE and our business plan. Itacho serves, to me, quite unconventional Singaporean Japanese restaurant food because a large portion of their menu are raw food. My favourite “seafood sushi” commonly found at Sakae Sushi and Sushi Tei are not to be found! But I enjoyed my udon with tempura and jellyfish appetizers! Their sushi is really fresh though! LOVE LOVE LOVE SUSHI!

Thereafter we met up with Steph and Eric for coffee @ Coffee Club, Takashimaya!

It’s always good to meet up with friends, have a meal/coffee, go shopping, take pictures, share happenings and ideas! :)

Checked blazer and purple/magenta tulip skirt credits to Foggiare!

Check out Steph’s post too!

Canada’s La Senza (LS) and US’s Victoria’s Secret (VS) are my most favourite lingerie brands, no prizes for guessing why! They have the sexiest, prettiest and most comfortable (wide) range of lingerie and they’re marketed very effectively through emails, store promotions, gorgeous brand “Angels”, season collections and memberships! But I think their selling point is ultimately the sense of luxury and “prestige” given their popularity among the women and maybe male fans too!

LA SENZA

La Senza

Personally I’ve worked with La Senza for 2 months and I’m a great fan of their lingerie and PJ sets! They’ve maintained their popularity with customers with good service and recommendations from retail assistants on the go, a beautiful retail space and visual marketing and definitely great products that keep attracting new and repeat customers with their loyalty cards and discounts/store promotions (with credit card partners)!

They constantly change their stocks (from what I’ve experienced, every 2 weeks or so) and bring in popular trends and designs that sometimes parallel Victoria’s Secrets, but I must highlight that they have their very own niches such as the Beyond Cleavage collection, La Senza Spirit, DreamLegs and Ooh La Lace collection as well as La Senza Shapewear. They also tend to “package” their products so that the more you buy, the more you save! For example, 3 for $69 bras, 5 for $25 panties but I personally love the 3 for $3o panties because they are so silky and soft and some of them, seamless!

If you’re also a La Senza fan, do purchase their membership ($30 a year) which can help you save as you buy your favourite items! Thereafter, keep a lookout for credit card promotions as they provide you with further discounts and always remember to bring your membership cards when you drop by!

Now they even have a La Senza Girl in stores!

infopub.blogspot.com

Victoria’s Secret

Victoria's Secret

Great news for lingerie lovers and fans of VS! They’re coming to Singapore!!!

Victoria’s Secret in Singapore Resort World Sentosa is First Victoria’s Secret in Asia!!!

Alessandra Ambrosio

The famous lingerie retailer will open in Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa in 2010 and the news came soon after Liu Wen became the first Asian VS Angel in November 2009.

Ashvin Valiram, the director of Malaysian-based retailer Valiram Group, revealed to the media that after 5 long years of negotiations, his company will finally be able to bring in the first Victoria’s Secret store in Asia to Singapore, and possibly even the annual Victoria’s Secret fashion show. Brand ambassadors such as Sharon Stone and Orlando Bloom are expected to fly in to grace various events.

blogthecoast.com

VS is known for its “Angels”, of course, including top supermodels like Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, Marisa Miller, Doutzen Kroes and Heidi Klum. Fashion shows and jaw-dropping catalogs graced by these beauties attract a lot of attention and revenue.

On November 13, 2007, the Victoria’s Secret Angels became the first trademark awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Angels are among the world’s best-paid models!

What I adore about VS? Victoria’s Secret PINK with their wide range of tees, sweaters and other loungewear/accessories, beauty products and makeup, GORGEOUS swimwear and sexy lingerie! Their most loved collection include Glamour by VS, Sexy Little Things, Angels by VS and Very Sexy.

So which is your weakness?
