More to Life.

Posted: September 21, 2010 in Uncategorized

The jog today, the sunset that accompanied it

Sorted the simplest and most complicated of thoughts

Dissolved an element of emotion

Blended an array of synergies I’ve lost or neglected.

There’s so much more to life than the reciprocation of feelings.

I think I deserve much more than that.

The nights and times I spent talking to my friends and being there for them gives me tremendous happiness and contentment.

And I’ll do just that, what I really wanna do, and what defines me.

xoxo,

Melissa Jane

Over lunch just now I had familiar company that I haven’t appreciated in a long time – the company of my brother. Ever since he got enlisted, we hardly saw each other, but that’s actually a blessing in disguise because now that I only see him once or twice a week during weekends or Friday evenings, there really is a difference just because of his presence. It’s a heartwarming feeling I will never forget. Army does change the boys – two months into enlistment and we could all see that he has become more mature, thoughtful and appreciative of what he has. He had never smsed Mum to tell her to take good care of herself, saying he missed home-cooked food and his nice warm bed. He had never volunteered to wash the dishes or vacuum the floor. And most significantly, it could be felt that he truly longs to come back every time he opens the door to a comfortable home, looking exhausted, sun-beaten and all. And I will give him a hug to welcome him. I really missed him during the week, and knowing that he’s going through so much in army does pain me, but of course, I know that at the end of it all, he would have grown and learnt so much faster. I am a proud sister of a great guy :)

Basking in Adam Lambert’s amazing vocals brings forth powerful emotions of sorts, not going to elaborate much here but I would like to provide a strong source of support for my friends going through a difficult time – not only because I’m a close friend, but also because I’m going through a similar situation.

“why do we deserve this?”

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I’m dying
Are the best I’ve ever had
And I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It’s a very, very… mad world… mad world…

What else could I do, but to move on?

Anyway, doesn’t he look a little like Adam Lambert??? Picture taken with nette and a Cuban dancer who performed in Fried Rice Paradise (musical).

Whataya Want From Me?

I love you, Adam Lambert.

I never really got caught in the hype and holler about High School Musical, ‘cos some of the action just seems too optimistic and cheery for my liking – but I’ve got to admit pretty faces are a large reason why it has been such a hit.

Zanessa Elle Magazine Photoshoot - zac-efron-and-vanessa-hudgens photo

Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron obviously look awesome together, and I chanced upon this video when surfing YouTube – so outdated huh, but hey it makes me smile because their love story in it seems really romantic. Fantasize, fantasize, fantasize.

I guess there’s really a “type” that one is particularly attracted to. My favourite boy Zac Efron likes his babes with dark features (his childhood idol was Tyra Banks!) and Vanessa is a brunette – rumoured fling Megan Fox is far from a blonde and yeah, you get the picture.

What’s my type?

Clean cut, boyish good looks, a great smile, a medium shag haircut and pulls off smart-casual chic/preppy fashion. As much as I hate to admit it, it’s always the same kind of guys that gets me noticing – and my good friends love to tease me about that!

Nate Archibald - Gossip Girl

Nate Archibald - Gossip Girl

“Quite standard right? That pattern one”

-laughs-

Anyhow no prizes for guessing why, but I’m looking forward to Charlie St Cloud, which opens here on 30 Sept 2010.

Damn, I’m such a visual animal.

Signing off,

Melissa Jane

I just have to comment on Gaga’s latest appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards. Oops, she has done it again – up the shocking factor when it comes to OUTrageous personas and outfits.

https://i0.wp.com/sgstb.msn.com/i/89/46A2A474B2464342755894EAE968E.jpg

A dress – made almost entirely of meat – I’m surprised there wasn’t a maggot scuttling across her face when she claimed her award on stage – yes she got Video of the Year Award!

CONGRATULATIONS, MA LAYDAY.

But critics and animal lovers still haven’t gotten over that controversial dress.

Animal rights groups were up in arms criticizing the outfit – which is thought to be made of real meat. Maggots were likely to be crawling in the Franc Fernandez outfit, they claim.

On her eccentric choice, the Bad Romance singer said: “Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian. As you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth.”

She added: ” However, it has many interpretations but for me this evening…if we don’t stand up for what we believe in and if we don’t fight for our rights, pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our own bones. And, I am not a piece of meat.”

Fashion forward or bad taste? // Lady Gaga

Hungry, anyone?

I feel it’s pushing the boundaries of creativity and bordering on being overly enthusiastic about shocking the world and giving the OhMyGod factor, wearing a dress entirely made of meat, with shoes and a large steak on her head to boot.

Some meat is fine, accessorize with a bacon stick or something. But smelling like I’ve swum in a sea of rotting flesh (well I’m not saying the meat’s unpreserved, they probably are) is pretty out of the question. Unless it’s for a special cause?

Other looks I’ll be more lenient with:

For all Gaga fans out there (like myself) – good news! The Lady in question has signed a deal with cosmetics firm Coty Inc. to release her own range of fragrances, with the first set to come out early 2012. Stephen Mormoris – senior vice president of global marketing in the Coty Beauty division – says the contract was signed last week and thinks the fragrances will appeal to her fans all over the world. He told WWD: ‘She is a phenomenon and a fascinating cultural force.’ The billboards hitmaker has made no secret of her desire to work in the fashion world and recently approached renowned hat designer Philip Treacy to take her on as an intern so she could learn all the tricks of the trade. The designer’s representative said at the time: ‘Lady Gaga has requested an internship. But Philip will have to check her sewing skills first.’ Gaga has also previously spoken of her wish to launch her own clothing range, saying: ‘I can’t wait to do my own line. It’s definitely something I want to do in the next year, as I do have my own style. I’m already talking to my boy Akon about it.’

I wish you bluebirds in the spring

To give your heart a song to sing

And then a kiss, but more than this

I wish you love

And in July a lemonade

To cool you in some leafy glade

I wish you health

And more than wealth

I wish you love

My breaking heart and I agree

That you and I could never be

So with my best

My very best

I set you free

I wish you shelter from the storm

A cozy fire to keep you warm

But most of all when snowflakes fall

I wish you love

My breaking heart and I agree

That you and I could never be

So with my best

My very best

I set you free

I wish you shelter from the storm

A cozy fire to keep you warm

But most of all when snowflakes fall

I wish you love

But most of all when snowflakes fall

I wish you love.

My favourite dress from Almost Famous :)

Catch-up dinner with Bryant at VivoCity after class last Thursday!

Enjoying the view of Sentosa Island at the rooftop, chatting while feeling the breeze on our faces…

Thanks for a wonderful night, Bryant!

What’s top priority for me now –

1. Ferosha & Eclat (more on this!)

2. Last semester at NUS – score the best grades possible for my 3 modules!

3. Application for position at LV

4. Be there (and spending more time with) for my friends and family

5. EXERCISE (I wish I had more discipline for this!)

A song from Aceson that I truly love (in fact I all the songs he sent me)

I lie awake again, my bodies feeling paralysed
I can’t remember when
I didn’t live through this disguise
The words you said to me
They couldn’t set me free

Im stuck here in this life i didn’t ask for
There must be something more,
Do we know what we’re fighting for?

Breathe in breathe out

And all these masks we wore
We never knew what we had in store

Breathe in breathe out

The storm is rolling in
The thunders loud it hurts my ears

Im paying for my sins
And its gunna rain for years and years

I fooled everyone and now what will i become?
I have to start this over
I have to start this over

There must be something more,
Do we know what we’re fighting for?

Breathe in breathe out

And all these masks we wore
We never knew what we had in store

Breathe in breathe out

I fooled everyone and now what will i become?
I have to start this over
I have to start this over

There must be something more,
Do we know what we’re fighting for?

Breathe in breathe out

And all these masks we wore
We never knew what we had in store

Breathe in breathe out
There must be something more
Breathe in breathe out
There must be something more

Possibilities.
